You may have seen clogging featured on America’s Got Talent or showcased across the American South, but at 8th Count Dance Center, it’s the heartbeat of our studio. We are the proud home of the Walnut Hill Cloggers, a performance group with a legacy spanning over 35 years.
Founded by Barbara Coury in the 1980s, the group was passed to one of its original members, Shanelle Waggoner, in 2006. Today, under the direction of veteran team member and national workshop instructor Katie Koehnle, the Walnut Hill Cloggers continue to bring high-energy performances to audiences across Northeast Ohio.
What is Clogging? Clogging is a versatile folk dance that has evolved far beyond its traditional country roots. While it honors its history, modern clogging can be performed to any music with a beat—from pop to rock!
