You may have seen clogging featured on America’s Got Talent or showcased across the American South, but at The 8th Count Dance Center, it’s a core heartbeat of our studio. We are the proud home of the Walnut Hill Cloggers, a performance group with a rich local legacy spanning over 35 years. Founded by Barbara Coury in 1988, leadership of the group was passed to one of its original members, Shanelle Waggoner, in 2006. Today, under the direction of veteran team member and national workshop instructor Katie Koehnle, the Walnut Hill Cloggers continue to bring high-energy performances to community events and festivals across Northeast Ohio.
What is Clogging? Clogging is a rhythmic, high-energy dance style that has evolved far beyond its traditional roots. While we love and honor its history, modern clogging is fast-paced and can be performed to any music with a great beat—from country and rock to your favorite pop hits!
Who Can Clog? Everyone! Clogging is incredible fitness and great fun for all ages. We offer classes for:
Youth & Teens: A high-energy way to build rhythm, coordination, and stamina.
Adults (Beginner to Advanced): A fantastic, social workout where no prior dance experience is required!
Join the Fun! Check out our Calendar & Events page to see where the Walnut Hill Cloggers are performing next in the Garrettsville area. If you’re ready to lace up your shoes and try it for yourself, we would love to welcome you to class!
